Below are valuable resources provided by Dr. Lora Chamberlain, Organizer for Frack Free Illinois.
She says: "Many shifts in our energy mix in IL are happening
quite quickly. The roll out of the EPA carbon rules is in fact occurring
rapidly, if we snooze we loose. It
is good for all
enviros in IL to get involved to the extent that they can - whether or
not we achieve our renewable energy renaissance is being determined
right now by policy decisions on many levels."
Stay tuned for updates on organizing meetings.

Below
is a link to the audio and slides shown at a meeting at the Illinois
Commerce Commission, ICC, on Monday, Aug 18th. The corporate
stakeholders in IL were in attendance, and some of the issues with the
EPA carbon rules were discussed. There will be 2 additional all day
meetings at the ICC on Sept. 23rd and Oct 30th, they are well worth
attending to learn how the power brokers are lining up on different
aspects of these EPA rules.

Great video about the Carbon Monster trying to destroy the world and a website with some of the solutions
One
of the solutions might be at the local level, a City of Chicago carbon
tax (?), you can read what happened with Boulder's carbon tax here: greenworldrising
This site lays out how we could get 100% renewable by 2050 with lots of jobs numbers:
The
single best article about the "Fix" to the Illinois Renewable Energy
Portfolio Standard, RPS -- this is one piece of legislation, (if Exelon
does not corrupt it), that we want to pass in Springfield: How to make Illinois into a clean-energy leader
Exelon
is trying to re frame itself as a "renewable or low carbon energy", and
has proceeded to consolidate their hold on IL electricity markets. They
are
also working to keep new renewable energy from being built in our
state:
NEIS skewers Exelon about their advances towards consolidation of their power in Springfield:
